Terms of Use and Content Policy

1. Free and Non-Commercial Use

This website is free. We do not charge for access, and nothing on the site is paywalled. The content is intended for personal, non-commercial use.

Visitors who want to can leave an optional tip through our Support page to help offset the cost of running the site. Tipping is never required, unlocks nothing, and gives no extra access. Everyone sees the same site.

2. What We Link To and What We Host

Most of this site is a catalogue. Entries in The List, the Standup archive, Norm Macdonald Live, and the Bucket List describe an appearance and link to a video hosted elsewhere, mainly on YouTube and Archive.org. We do not host or stream those videos. Thumbnails shown next to catalogue entries are loaded from YouTube, not stored here. We try to link to official or authorized sources where possible.

Some material is hosted on this site directly:

• Newspaper clippings. Scans of articles and listings about Norm's early career, labelled with the date and, where known, the publication.
• Blue card jokes. Transcriptions of the jokes read on Norm Macdonald Live and Norm Macdonald Has a Show, each attributed to its episode. Transcriptions courtesy of normjokes.com.
• Bit pages. Transcripts of selected talk show bits on the Bucket List, with the show, the air date where known, and a link to the source video.
• Images. Still frames for a few popular bits, and the cover of Norm's book, used to point to where it is sold.

That material belongs to its respective owners: the publications, networks, producers, and the Macdonald estate. The site's own design, code, catalogue, descriptions, and organisation are ours. If a credit is missing or wrong, tell us through the contact form and we will fix it.

User Responsibility: When submitting new appearances, please make sure the source you provide is authorized to post the video, so we do not end up linking to infringing material.

3. Not Affiliated

The Norm Macdonald Archive is an unofficial, fan-run project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Norm Macdonald's estate, Netflix, or any television network, studio, or production company. Norm's name is used only to describe what the site catalogues.

4. Personal Preferences & Local Storage

To allow you to track which videos you have "Seen" or added to your "Watch List" without requiring a login, we use Local Storage.

• No Account Needed. Your data lives on your device, not on our servers.
• Device Specific. Because this data is stored in your browser, your "Seen" list will not automatically sync between your phone and your computer.

5. Analytics

To understand user traffic and improve the site, we use Google Analytics.

• Traffic Analysis. We track anonymous traffic data such as page views, user location (city/country), and device type.
• Privacy First. We use standard settings which do not collect personally identifiable information (PII) like names or exact IP addresses.

6. External Links & Liability

Our service provides links to third-party websites (such as YouTube, Archive.org, and others). We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites. You acknowledge and agree that The Norm Macdonald Archive shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused by or in connection with the use of any such content.
